SUMMARY:Observers and causality in Quantum Gravity
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that the COST Actions RQI and BridgeQG are jointly organizing the conference “Observers and causality in quantum gravity” in Bratislava\, Slovakia\, which is going to happen on 21st – 24th April 2026.\nhttp://quantum.physics.sk/ocqg2026 \nThis conference aims to bring together disparate communities in quantum gravity and quantum information to discuss common foundational concepts\, which are defined and employed in different ways across fields. SUMMARY:Astrophysical processes in Lorentz invariance violation studies: modeling and analysis
DESCRIPTION:The workshop “Astrophysical processes in Lorentz invariance violation studies: modelling and analysis” aims at developing methodologies to improve the modelling of the astrophysical sources that emit high-energy signals that can be used in quantum gravity searches. Understanding the physics of the source is crucial\, since currently this is the main source of uncertainty in tests of quantum-gravity induced propagation anomalies. This workshop will be crucial in involving astrophysicists not working on quantum gravity who are however expert in source modelling.

SUMMARY:WG5 online meeting
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Prof. Jerzy Kowalski-Glikman. \nTitle of the talk:\nArea Fluctuations in Quantum Gravity: From Theory to Phenomenology and Back\n Abstract:\nA few years ago\, E. Verlinde and K. Zurek proposed that if area fluctuations in quantum gravity scale proportionally with the area itself\, then their effects could\, in principle\, be detected using currently available technologies. This idea resonates with a longstanding insight\, dating back to Einstein\, that (quantum) fluctuations can encode crucial and potentially observable information about otherwise inaccessible microscopic properties. In this talk\, I will first discuss the phenomenological implications of the Verlinde–Zurek relation. I will then argue that\, from a theoretical standpoint\, this relation lies at the very heart of quantum gravity. Finally\, I will address the central question: What is the entity that fluctuates\, and what are its physical properties? \nZoom link sent by email

SUMMARY:WG1 Online Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The regular WG1 meetings restart after the summer. If you want to give a 5 minute talk\, please contact Alessia and Christian. \nAs before\, flash presentations should highlight \n What is your research expertise/interests\, in the context of the QG community? \n What is the overarching goal of your research? \n Why did you join BridgeQG? What do you expect / would you like to achieve scientifically with the BridgeQG network? \nFurther on the agenda for the meeting is \n to discuss topics and speakers for possible longer presentations in the WG1 meetings\, \n to collect ideas for moderated topical discussions of future WG1 meetings\, \n to start coordinating participation in BridgeQG projects such as the Vademecum\, the outreach to schools activity\, etc.

SUMMARY:[Outreach Event Paris] Gravitation: from general relativity to quantum gravity

SUMMARY:First Annual Conference BridgeQG@Paris
DESCRIPTION:Bridging high and low energies in search of quantum gravity – 2025 Cost Action CA23130 First Annual Conference\nThe international conference “Bridging high and low energies in search of quantum gravity 2025” (BridgeQG 2025) is the first annual conference of COST Action CA23130. \nIts goal is to favor exchanges between the various communities eager to tackle the challenges of QG phenomenology. After introductory talks on the most recent developments on theories and experiments in the fields of high-energy and low-energy QG phenomenology\, the conference will be open to contributions. Invited speakers will develop some hot topics relevent to the field. \nThe conference will be held in Paris\, France from 7 to 10 July 2025. It is fully funded by COST Association through COST Action CA23130. \nFor more information\, check the Indico webpage
