LHCb is a specialized&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/B-physics\">b-physics<\/a>&nbsp;experiment, that is measuring the parameters of&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/CP_violation\">CP violation<\/a>&nbsp;in the interactions of b-<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hadron\">hadrons<\/a>&nbsp;(heavy particles containing a&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bottom_quark\">bottom quark<\/a>). Such studies can help to explain the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Baryon_asymmetry\">Matter-Antimatter asymmetry<\/a>&nbsp;of the Universe. The detector is also able to perform measurements of production cross sections and&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electroweak_interaction\">electroweak<\/a>&nbsp;physics in the forward region.
