One example is the very high computational cost required to simulate amyloid protein aggregation that has limited the development of drug therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer&#8217;s disease.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;4819&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The protocol developed enables the simulation of biomolecular processes with performance comparable to molecular dynamics software running on supercomputers and thus makes it possible to study of drugs that can bind to metastable intermediates in protein folding.<br \/>\n\u202f<br \/>\nTo realise the Technology Transfer of these technologies in the field of pharmacology, the innovative startup\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sibyllabiotech.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sibylla Biotech<\/a>, recognised as<a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/web.infn.it\/TechTransfer\/en\/spin-off\/\">\u202fINFN Spin-off<\/a> was founded on 5 October 2017.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;
