Neutroni termici sono convertiti in particelle alfa e ioni Litio attraverso processi di cattura su un catodo borato. La geometria tubolare garantisce una sensibilit\u00e0 a 360\u00b0 e dimensioni che permettono un facile accoppiamento con volumi di moderatori per termalizzare i neutroni ed essere cos\u00ec sensibili a un maggiore range di energia. Il rivelatore \u00e8 equipaggiato con elettronica sensibile al singolo neutrone.
