In adroterapia, fasci di ioni leggeri vengono accelerati in modo da colpire e danneggiare il tessuto tumorale all\u2019interno del paziente risparmiando i tessuti sani circostanti. L\u2019invenzione riguarda una tecnica originale per migliorare la qualit\u00e0 delle immagini grazie a un nuovo metodo di sincronizzazione indiretta del sistema di acquisizione con l\u2019acceleratore.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;3173&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #20415c;\">Come funziona?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]L\u2019invenzione consiste in un sistema PET (Positron Emission Tomography) capace di monitorare il range di un fascio adroterapico durante l\u2019irraggiamento. Il sistema \u00e8 composto da due teste di rivelazione disposte a una distanza di circa 50 cm l\u2019una dall\u2019altra, ortogonalmente alla direzione del fascio. I rivelatori sono basati su blocchi scintillanti in LYSO e fotosensori SiPM, letti da una serie di ASIC, a loro volta gestiti da una FPGA. I dati acquisiti vengono processati in tempo reale nella stessa FPGA e trasmessi a un PC per ulteriori elaborazioni. Un algoritmo dedicato consente di filtrare in tempo reale gli eventi acquisiti riducendo al minimo le perdite di dati dovute a limiti di trasmissione digitale.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #20415c;\">Applicazioni<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-block-key=\"3kpfd\">Studio dei processi adronici veloci a basse energie per migliorare il potere predittivo dei sistemi di pianificazione del trattamento;<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"tmwr2\">Monitoraggio dell\u2019outcome di trattamento nei pazienti;<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"l8xo2\">Monitoraggio e controllo in tempo reale del range delle particelle cariche nei pazienti.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #20415c;\">Vantaggi<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-block-key=\"e7ltk\">Notevole riduzione del rumore nelle immagini di monitoraggio prodotte nei primi istanti di trattamento;<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"3akw4\">Possibile riduzione dei margini di sicurezza normalmente adottati in adroterapia (fino ad un cm attorno al target tumorale) e quindi riduzione della tossicit\u00e0 sui tessuti sani;<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"40v1d\">Operazione di monitoraggio meno invasiva rispetto ai sistemi attuali grazie all&#8217;elevata efficienza di acquisizione.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;
