Grazie ad uno speciale sistema ottico e all&#8217;utilizzo di luce polarizzata, sfruttando il fenomeno della risonanza plasmonica, il microscopio riesce a raggiungere accuratezze nanometriche nelle misure di posizione nelle tre dimensioni, permettendo anche l\u2019effettuazione di analisi della forma e delle dimensioni delle particelle.
