Lo scopo di DeepLook \u00e8 quello di implementare una procedura che aiuti il senologo nella localizzazione di lesioni sospette.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Il cancro al seno \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 comune forma tumorale che affligge la popolazione femminile e Il modo pi\u00f9 efficace per combatterlo \u00e8 la sua diagnosi precoce.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A questo scopo \u00e8 stato introdotto lo screening mammografico che fa uso della mammografia digitale a raggi X per la diagnosi nella paziente asintomatica. La mammografia, per\u00f2, non \u00e8 un esame che permette una diagnosi ideale perch\u00e9 sono possibili errori diagnostici dovuti alla sovrapposizione dei tessuti mammari nella direzione di propagazione del fascio di raggi X.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=&#8221;703&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; qode_css_animation=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]Le \u00a0nuove tecniche tridimensionali di imaging a raggi X, come la tomosintesi digitale mammaria (digital breast tomosynthesis, DBT), consentono di superare il limite della sovrapposizione del tessuto patologico e quello sano nella direzione del fascio incidente, condizione che pu\u00f2 nascondere la visibilit\u00e0 delle anomalie maligne o simulare l\u2019apparenza di una lesione quando non \u00e8 presente. Infatti, l\u2019esame DBT restituisce decine di immagini di fettine del tessuto mammario in piani ortogonali alla direzione del fascio di raggi X, con una separazione tra le fettine dell\u2019ordine di 1 mm, permettendo cos\u00ec una pi\u00f9 accurata localizzazione delle eventuali lesioni.<\/p>\n<p>Sebbene l\u2019utilizzo della tecnica diagnostica DBT in ambiente clinico abbia mostrato risultati molto promettenti nell\u2019ambito dello screening mammografico, la crescita del numero di immagini da visualizzare e refertare da parte del radiologo pu\u00f2 rappresentare un limite alla sua applicazione: \u00e8 stato mostrato che il tempo impiegato per la refertazione di immagini di DBT \u00e8 approssimativamente doppio rispetto a quello per la refertazione delle due mammografie convenzionali. Per questo motivo, e per l\u2019intrinseca complessit\u00e0 della diagnosi di tipo tomografico, la variabilit\u00e0 intra- ed inter-osservatore \u00e8 maggiore per un esame di DBT rispetto alla mammografia. Metodi automatici per l\u2019interpretazione di immagini DBT, attraverso algoritmi di intelligenza artificiale che permettano di riconoscere la presenza e la localizzazione di \u00a0una lesione, possono avere un notevole impatto in termini di riduzione significativa del \u00a0tempo di lettura da parte del radiologo, che si potr\u00e0 avvalere di questo ausilio diagnostico di seconda lettura automatica dell\u2019esame, e di miglioramento della diagnosi, riducendone anche la variabilit\u00e0 tra gli studi effettuati in sedi diverse o da diversi radiologi.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/4&#8243;
