We make substantial contributions to the upgrade and commissioning of major subsystems of the Virgo interferometer, including the mirror suspension system and the interferometer control system. In parallel, we carry out extensive analyses of Virgo and LIGO data, searching for gravitational-wave sources that have not yet been detected and investigating the properties of those that have already been observed.
