Escape room profile

INAF escape mission

A scientific and interactive escape room combining play, collaboration and science communication, taking children on a journey through space, asteroids and the technologies used to protect our planet.

The story

The narrative

A mysterious message intercepted by a group of children reveals terrible news: an unidentified object, probably a meteorite, is on a collision course with Earth. An even greater problem emerges: a mysterious villain has kidnapped all INAF astronomers to prevent activation of the Cosmic Shield, the only technology capable of saving the planet. With no adults left to rely on, the young protagonists enter the control centre of the Astronomical Observatory of Padua to complete the mission. Through puzzles, secret codes, science labs and challenges, participants must work together to recover the final password and activate the protective shield that will surround Earth and break the asteroid into cosmic dust.
