European Spallation Source ERIC Box 176 SE-221 00, Lund Sweden
The European Spallation Source (ESS) is a major research facility currently under construction, dedicated to studying materials at the atomic and molecular level using neutron scattering. It aims to become the most advanced and powerful proton accelerator driven neutron source in the world. In the framework of iSAS, ESS is actively involved in WP5 and WP6. This includes conducting a technical review of the ESS design, assembly, testing, and commissioning processes, with the goal of benchmarking against other designs and contributing to the development of parametric models for sustainability. Additionally, the ESS prototype cryomodule serves as a platform for integrating the technologies developed within iSAS, while the ESS test facility is utilized to assess its performance.
