For more than thirty years, it has been dedicated\n        to the study and application of advanced superconductivity, both for accelerator systems and for\n        other areas of physics, as well as to the development of innovative accelerator schemes.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        Since the early 1990s, LASA has carried out activities in several fields of accelerator physics\n        and cryogenics, applied to both superconducting magnets and RF cavities. These long-standing\n        efforts have led to the development of unique expertise, enabling INFN to participate in the\n        largest international particle physics projects.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        In the field of superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) technology, LASA was a founding member\n        of the TESLA collaboration supplying cryomodules, cavities and 3rd harmonic system for\n        TTF\/FLASH and European XFEL. It houses five hadron\n        accelerators, delivering beams to first-class experimental instruments, available to users\n        from all over Europe and beyond.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        SRF activities at INFN-LNL began in the late 1980s with the design and construction of\n        <strong>ALPI<\/strong>, the world&#8217;s first heavy-ion linac based on thin-film SRF technology,\n        which has now been in operation for over 30 years since first beam. Today INFN-LNL is\n        recognized as an international reference center for the development of thin-film SRF cavities\n        and innovative surface treatments.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        The construction of the research facility <strong>SPES<\/strong>, generating exotic species\n        and beams for fundamental science and medical applications, is in an advanced construction\n        stage: it will expand the LNL +50 years&#8217; experience in designing and operating accelerators,\n        exploring the very mechanism of nuclear matter origin in stars. The SPES driver is a recently\n        commissioned proton cyclotron, which will also produce radioisotopes for medicine.\n      <\/p>\n      <p>\n        The experience gained through the construction of ALPI and SPES has enabled INFN-LNL to\n        contribute to major international projects, such as the construction of\n        <strong>European Spallation Source<\/strong>, <strong>IFMIF-EVEDA<\/strong> and\n        <strong>IFMIF-DONES<\/strong>.\n      <\/p>\n      <p style=\"font-style: italic; color: #618A97 !important;\">\n        We will be pleased to host SRF 2027 participants for a guided tour of the major scientific\n        facilities of the site.
