{"id":276,"date":"2021-05-03T21:50:30","date_gmt":"2021-05-03T19:50:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.infn.it\/strings\/?p=276"},"modified":"2021-05-07T10:45:51","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T08:45:51","slug":"seminar-may-6-f-apruzzi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.infn.it\/strings\/seminar-may-6-f-apruzzi\/","title":{"rendered":"Seminar May 6: F.Apruzzi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On May 6 we will have a seminar by<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fabio Apruzzi<\/strong> (University of Oxford)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> Holography, 1-Form Symmetries and Confinement<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract:<\/strong> I will discuss confinement in 4d N = 1 SU(N) Super-Yang Mills (SYM) from holography, focusing on the 1-form symmetry and the holographic realization in terms of the Klebanov-Strassler solution. I will show how from the 5d consistent truncation it is possible to identify the topological couplings that determine the 1-form symmetry (and thus global forms of the gauge group) and its&nbsp;\u2019t Hooft&nbsp;anomalies. One of the topological couplings corresponds to a mixed 0-1-form symmetry anomaly, which is related to chiral symmetry breaking in the infrared (IR) vacuum.
