CHI-NEXT is a CSN3-INFN experiment dedicated to the study of heavy-ion collisions using the CHIMERA multidetector, the FARCOS correlator and the prototype of the NArCoS neutron correlator. The research group is also involved in the study of isospin effects in nuclear reactions, collective modes, the symmetry energy term of the nuclear matter equation of state, and clustering phenomena in light nuclei.

The experiment involves researchers from INFN-CT, INFN-LNS, INFN-MI and DFA-UNICT, and operates with stable and radioactive beams from INFN-LNS in Catania and with high-energy beams from GSI in Darmstadt.
