About 50 students from 3 high schools of Grosseto partecipated today in the Rabiolab activites.
RadioLab is a project conceived for the dissemination of scientific culture with particular regard to the theme of radioactivity. It was born from the consideration/observation that the subjective perception – sensation – of the risk does not very often correspond to the objective and real risk of human activities, since in the imagination exaggerated risks are attributed which do not correspond to the real levels of danger to anything that does not it’s known. This aspect is particularly evident when it comes to radioactivity. The basic idea is to bring children closer to this issue, giving them the opportunity to measure natural radioactivity firsthand to realize that we live in a radioactive world.
