The 1st ENRICH COST Annual Meeting was held from 14 to 16 July 2026 at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science and chaired by Alessandro Scordo, Chair of the ENRICH COST Action, and Magdalena Skurzok, Local Organiser.

Organised in a hybrid format, the meeting brought together more than 90 participants representing over 60 institutions from more than 30 European countries. A significant number of early-career researchers and young scientists took part in the event, contributing actively to the scientific discussions and networking activities. The meeting’s main objective was to strengthen collaboration among Action members, facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and foster the development of new joint research and innovation initiatives.

During the first two days, the Working Group Leaders and COST Action Coordinators presented the activities carried out during the first year of CA24131 and outlined plans for the next stages of the Action. In addition, 18 invited speakers presented their research during a series of scientific sessions.

The scientific programme covered a broad range of topics relevant to the ENRICH COST Action, including advanced gamma-ray and X-ray detectors, photon-counting technologies, detector materials, electronics and data-acquisition systems, artificial intelligence and machine learning, X-ray sources, and biomedical imaging.

The final day was dedicated to meetings of the ENRICH Core Group and Management Committee, during which the Action’s future activities, strategic directions and organisational priorities were discussed.

The programme was complemented by networking activities, a conference reception and a guided visit to the Collegium Maius Museum of Jagiellonian University.

The Annual Meeting provided an important forum for establishing new scientific contacts, exchanging interdisciplinary knowledge and experience, supporting the involvement of the next generation of researchers, and coordinating the next stages of the ENRICH COST Action. The success of the meeting was made possible thanks to the support of its sponsors, including the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of Jagiellonian University and the COST Association.
