The central objective of this proposal are different mechanisms for neutrino mass generation with emphasis on models with neutrino mass generation at loop level. To scrutinize the theory and phenomenology of these models is highly relevant, since the origin of neutrino masses is yet unknown. In the first sub-project different theoretical aspects are investigated, in particular the possibilities to endow such models with flavor and CP symmetries and to embed them into (grand) unified theories. In the second sub-project effects of the new particles, needed for the generation of neutrino masses, are analyzed. Depending on the choice of the INFN host institution the focus will be either put on indirect or direct signals of these new particles. The third subproject is dedicated to the study of generation mechanisms for the matter antimatter asymmetry of the Universe and the potential connection to Dark Matter in models with neutrino mass generation at loop level. The goals, constructing new models, cataloguing models according to indirect (direct) signals and establishing generation mechanisms for matter antimatter asymmetry and Dark Matter, are achieved by using as starting point simple models as testbed and adapting existing results and by using analytical techniques and available software in the phenomenological studies. The new models will be the first ones, where lepton mixing parameters are promoted from inputs to predictions. The catalogues of models, classified according to indirect (direct) signals, will be highly timely given the observed anomalies in g-2 of the muon and different B meson decays (the data available at the LHC). New generation mechanisms for the matter antimatter asymmetry are needed, since existing ones, operative at high energies, cannot be applied. At the same time, the right amount of Dark Matter needs explanation. The results of all three sub-projects will thus be very relevant for the development of viableand predictive models.
