HEPscape! @ University of Jyväskylä – Finland

HEPscape! @ JYU

The Finnish version of HEPscape! was developed at the University of Jyväskylä, inspired by the original INFN Roma escape room format.

A Finnish adaptation of HEPscape!

HEPscape! @ JYU started from the original idea developed by the INFN Roma group. The Finnish team created an escape room based on high energy physics, with the story taking place in the ALICE cavern.

The activity was designed mainly for high school students, but it can be adapted and expanded for participants of different ages and backgrounds.

A more traditional escape room format

Compared with the INFN version, HEPscape! @ JYU was adapted into a more traditional escape room format: less guided, more open, and with greater freedom for the participants.

The experience incorporated physics themes from the ALICE experiment and was very successful. Following the first edition, the JYU team planned further activities, including events in August and during Researchers’ Night.
