The team behind
HEPscape!
Researchers and students design the puzzles, prepare the installations and run the game sessions.

How the project began
HEPscape! began at INFN’s Rome division, initiated by Pia Astone, Francesca Cavallari, Chiara Rovelli and Livia Soffi, with support from the division and Sapienza University’s Department of Physics.
Since 2021, HEPscape! has run in schools, festivals, museums, conferences and public events. Portable kits allow the activity to be set up at different venues.
The role of facilitators
Facilitators observe how the team approaches problems, offer help when needed and connect the challenges to physical phenomena. No advanced knowledge is required: explanations and difficulty are adapted to the audience.
University and doctoral students take part in the activities and develop science communication skills. In school programmes, pupils can also learn to run the experience for their peers.
Local groups
Meet the local groups and find their contact details.
Host HEPscape!
To organise an activity, tell the team the location, dates, available space and expected audience.
