Innovative digital services, both desktop and/or web-based, are developed to support researchers in their work.

In particular, in the framework of the activities of INFN-CHNet, LABEC is part of the Digital Heritage Laboratory (DHLab), which offers many in-cloud services. The development of these services are supported by important initiatives funded by the European Commission, such as ARIADNEplus (GA n. 823914), EOSC-Pillar (GA n. 857650) and – in particular – 4CH (GA n. n.101004468), which INFN is the European leader of. As far as 4CH is concerned, DHLab has the task of organizing the architecture of the cloud platform of the Center of Competence (CC) and its development and distribution standards, on the basis of the cloud developed within CHNet network.

DHLab is also involved in developing desktop code to assist and support LABEC analog services. For example, the control software of the radio safety system of the experimental room of the tandem accelerator and the software for the IoT-inspired passage of the analog acquisition systems, used in the different experimental set-ups both in lab and in situ, are developed.

DHLab also deals with digital research dedicated to cultural heritage, with focus on artificial intelligence applied to raw analytical data acquired using physical technologies, on the integration of analog devices with IoT and on the update of LABEC and CHNet softwares towards the most recent digital technologies.
