INFN PostDoctoral position in High-energy perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics

Date: September 2022

INFN has opened 16 postdoctoral positions in theoretical physics.

Under the title "Resummation methods in high-energy perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics", one of the fellowships
is associated with the QFT@collider research node in Cosenza (Reference person: Prof. Alessandro Papa).

The research Group in Cosenza is presently composed by

    Alessandro Papa [Associate Professor, QFT@colliders local responsible];
    Michael Fucilla [PhD student];
    Gabriele Gatto [PhD student].

It has current and active collaborations with

    F. G. Celiberto [ECT*, Trento]
    V. S. Fadin [Budker Inst. Nucl. Physics, Novosibirsk]
    D. Yu. Ivanov [Sobolev Institute of Mathemtics, Novosibirsk]
    W. Schaefer [Institute of Nuclear Physics PAN, Krakow]
    A. Szczurek [Institute of Nuclear Physics PAN, Krakow]
    L. Szymanowsky [National Centre for Nuclear Research, Warsaw]
    S. Wallon [IJCLab, Paris-Saclay]

The research project will involve one of the following subjects, which coincide with the current research lines in the INFN
Cosenza group:

- calculation of next-to-leading order impact factors for semihard processes at LHC and future colliders;
- phenomenology of semihard processes with forward/backward production of heavy mesons, heavy jets, Higgs, exotic states, etc.;
- combination of high-energy resummation with other resummation methods in perturbative QCD, e.g. threshold resummation;
- modelization of next-to-leading order unintegrated gluon distributions (UGDs) in the proton;
- study of the interplay between high-energy and transverse-momentum-dependent (TMD) factorization;
- resummation of high-energy logs in perturbative QCD beyond the next-to-leading approximation.
