The HVGEM is a new device designed and realized in Frascati National Laboratory of INFN specifically for the High Voltage power supply of triple GEM detectors. All the detectors for beam diagnostic described in this web site has been supplied with this new device. |
The main characteriastics of this power supply was presented for the first time at X Pisa Meeting on Advanced Detectors : |
On September 2007 a new HV System has been built for the 24 LHCb triple GEM chambers of M1R1 (see the picture on the left). The crate is actually installed at CERN : it contains 24 HVGEM modules and 24 nanoammeters. |
A new control interface has been written in PVSS by Matteo Mara to set the GEM voltages and chamber fields. All the values are also checked every seconds and the program generate alarms in case of faults. |
On November 2008, a new system with only 4 modules (see the figure on the left) has been built for the Dafne Upgrade Luminometer. This system is now working at UA9 experiment, supplying two triple GEM backgroud monitors at SPS (CERN). |
A Labview program has been developed to set the GEM voltages and the fields for the electron drifts. The system is able to readout the voltages every seconds and drawn the values as a function of the time. The Online console is shown in the figure on the left. |
September 2010 We developed a new device for triple GEM power supply.
