PASTA (INFN-CSN5, 2017-2018)
PASTA project, acronym for Production with Accelerator of 47Sc for Theranostic Applications, was financed as Young research grant by CSN5 of INFN for two years (2017-2018). It was dedicated to nuclear cross section measurements on natV and 48Ti targets for 47Sc production, whose results have been also presented in the IAEA CRP no. F22053 focused on Radiopharmaceuticals labeled with new emerging radionuclides (67Cu, 186Re, 47Sc). The enriched metallic 48Ti targets have been manufactured and characterized within the E_PLATE project.
Further studies on 47Sc production have been carried out with enriched 49Ti and 50Ti targets during the REMIX project. Results of both PASTA and REMIX projects have also been the core for the INFN Patent “Metodo per produzione di 47Sc ad alta purezza con ciclotroni ad energie intermedie (35 MeV) attraverso un bersaglio multistrato”.
