System to speed up data transmission

The invention is a high-speed data transmission system intended to be used in a communication board between interconnected computing nodes.

How does it work?

The system serves to optimize the transfer of data from the source node to the destination nodes in the following cases:

• Multicast: a node sends its local data (“buffer”) to a subset of all nodes;
• Broadcast: a node sends its buffer to all other nodes;
• All to all: all nodes send all or different parts of their buffer to all (or part of) the other nodes.

Applications

• Parallel computer networks for high-performance scientific computing;
• Interconnection boards for dedicated computer networks.

• Lower communication latency of collective operations on computer networks;
• Less workload for processors for collective communication operations;
• Collective communications optimized for point-to-point networks.
