The INFN’s research and development programme, called Research for Innovation (R4I), was launched in 2017 with the aim of narrowing down the gap between research and innovation. Through R4I, INFN identifies, supports and finances projects with significant potential to raise its Technology Readiness Level (TRL), allowing technologies of interest to the industry to shorten the time needed for companies to access the technologies of their interest more quickly and with lower risks.
