HAMLET

New 20-channel digitizer, fast (250 Msample/s), high resolution (12 bit), easily interfaced with a wide range of sensors, qualified for hostile environments (30 krad total dose, neutron equivalent fluence of 1011 n/cm2 @1 MeVeq (Si)/y, magnetic field of 1 T and vacuum level of 10-4 Torr). Leading manufacturers of electronic instrumentation have in their catalogue multi-channel digitisers with high performance and sampling rates of up to 3 Gsample/s, which however are not qualified for hostile environments, where high radiation levels, intense magnetic fields and vacuum can also be present at the same time. The HAMLET project intercepts the growing demands for qualified devices for nuclear, space, medical and industrial applications, which are now unmet by the commercial devices.
