Apparatus for sintering powders that enables the rapid densification at high temperature of materials, in the presence of uniaxial pressure. Thanks to the optimization of the feeding system and moulds for powder moulding, the system realised is more versatile, more efficient and less expensive than commercial apparatuses, and allows the production of small articles in materials that are traditionally difficult to sinter due to their reactivity or high melting temperature.
The device differs significantly from similar devices already available. In particular, a high-current (up to 5000 A) and low-voltage (6-12 V) alternating current power supply system has been adopted, which is much simpler and less expensive than the high-frequency pulsed current systems generally used in commercial equipment.

This solution derives from the observation, supported by long experimental experience, of a substantial equivalence between the two solutions. Particularly innovative is the use of composite moulds, which make it possible to optimize current flows to achieve high temperatures and good temperature uniformity while significantly reducing the maximum current required in the case of large specimens.
