Method and apparatus for producing objects by three-dimensional printing and sintering

The invention relates to a method for producing three-dimensional objects from powders using a high-current, low-voltage sintering technique.

How does it work?

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for powder sintering that allows rapid densification of materials at high temperatures in the presence of uniaxial pressure. Thanks to the optimization of the feeding system and the molds for powder forming, the system is more versatile, more efficient, and less expensive than commercial apparatus and allows the production of small objects made of materials that are traditionally difficult to sinter due to their reactivity or high melting temperature.

The device differs significantly from similar devices already available. In particular, a high-current (up to 5000 A) and low-voltage (6-12 V) alternating current power supply system has been adopted, which is much simpler and less expensive than the high-frequency pulsed current systems generally used in commercial equipment.
