INFN at Meet in Italy for Life Sciences 2026

The event represents the main national cross-sectoral forum dedicated to Life Sciences.

On October 13 and 14, 2026, Meet in Italy for Life Sciences (MIT4LS) returns to Rome, one of the main national events dedicated to life sciences, bringing together the research community, businesses, institutions, investors, and innovation stakeholders. The event will be held at the Auditorium della Tecnica di Confindustria, at viale Umberto Tupini 65.

INFN is among the co-organizers of the 2026 edition and will participate in the program with a thematic workshop dedicated to digital infrastructures and secure data management for life sciences research.

INFN’s scheduled appointments

On Tuesday, October 13, at 12:10, Oscar Adriani, vice president of INFN, will be in conversation with Andrea Lenzi, president of the National Research Council, as part of the conference:

“Human Capital and Talent Challenge: skills, people, future”.

Wednesday, October 14, from 10:00 to 11:00, in Room 1 – Floor 1 (Meet Lab I), the following workshop will be held:

“EPIC Cloud: the INFN high-security cloud platform for life science research and innovation and its applications”.

Moderated by Emanuele Scifoni, researcher at the Trento Institute for Fundamental Physics and Applications (TIFPA) of INFN, the session will present EPIC (Enhanced PrIvacy and Compliance) Cloud, a certified and secure region of the INFN cloud, developed and managed to meet the requirements of projects and experiments studying clinical, biomedical, and genomic data.

The occasion will also showcase some EPIC applications for data management, sharing, and analysis in healthcare and life sciences.

The Meet In Italy for Life Sciences program

Promoted by the life sciences cluster Alisei, MIT4LS 2026 sees INFN among the co-organizers, demonstrating the Institute’s commitment to applications in this sector of fundamental research.

The event features two days of conferences, B2B and B2R meetings between companies and research, an exhibition area, thematic workshops, and a program dedicated to startups and emerging innovations. The goal is to foster dialogue and the development of collaborations among universities and research centers, businesses, institutions, investors, and other stakeholders in the life sciences ecosystem.

Participation in the event is free, subject to registration.

An ongoing commitment to life sciences

INFN has been engaged for years in research in physics applied to life sciences, through numerous research projects and technology transfer activities, ranging from the production of radioisotopes for cancer treatment, to the use of accelerators in medicine, including advanced dosimetry and medical imaging.

The Institute’s commitment to bringing the results of this research to society is demonstrated not only by the development of patented technologies and collaboration with hospitals and companies, but also through the recognition of spin-offs dedicated to the commercialization of biomedical technologies.
